New Capacity for Polycarbonate and ABS Profiles

Our new high temperature 60mm single screw extruder has today completed its first run of a polycarbonate bumper section. The new extruder has been specified for the production of profiles and tubes in polycarbonate, ABS and other materials requiring higher melt temperatures. Typically products manufactured from these materials will be used in applications such as lighting diffusers, linear lenses, protective bumpers or pipes used in geotechnical evaluation. The additional capacity is required to cope with the growing demand for profiles made from these materials. Orders have also been placed for two new haul-off and saw combination units to provide complementary downstream capacity in the same area of production. These new units are also designed to hold a greater accuracy of cut length normally demanded for end-uses such as lighting diffuser and lenses.
